Usui Reiki

Usui Reiki

Usui Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that is based on the concept of channeling universal life energy to promote healing and balance in the recipient. It was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century in Japan. The word “Reiki” is often translated as “universal life energy” or “spiritual energy,” and the practice aims to help the body’s natural healing processes by facilitating the flow of this energy.

So, how did I come to train as a Usui Reiki Master? It actually found me through a family member when my son was born in 2012. Within 3 months, I took a course in Reiki in Levels 1, 2 and 3 and then also trained as a Reiki Master. The most beautiful thing about Reiki is that it does no harm; it heals and protects; it lovingly guides one’s body, mind and spirit. When it is used in the highest and most loving way it increases one’s sense of well-being and restores positive energy flow to one’s life. The most interesting thing is that Reiki energy is accessible to EVERYONE. You can use it as a tool like I do, to refresh your energy field or chakras simply by placing your hands on where you need the most healing! You can also send Reiki energy at a distance using the same principles.

Here’s some more information to teach you about Usui Reiki and how it works:
  1. Universal Life Energy: Practitioners of Usui Reiki agree there is a universal life force energy that flows through all living things. This energy is the foundation of life and is the vital force that sustains us.

  2. Attunement: Reiki practitioners go through a process called “attunement” or “initiation” in which they are trained and attuned by a Reiki master. This process opens the practitioner to the flow of Reiki energy and allows them to act as a conduit for it.

  3. Energy Flow: During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands on or near the recipient’s body. They use a set of hand positions to channel Reiki energy into the recipient. The energy flows through the practitioner and into the recipient, seeking to restore balance and harmony.

  4. Healing and Balance: Reiki works on multiple levels, including the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The energy can help to remove blockages, release tension, and promote relaxation. This, in turn, can support the body’s natural ability to heal itself and alleviate various physical and emotional ailments.

  5. Self-Healing: In addition to receiving Reiki from a practitioner, individuals can also learn self-reiki techniques. This allows them to access and direct the healing energy whenever needed for self-care and relaxation.

Usui Reiki is often viewed as a holistic approach to well-being, and individuals interested in trying it should seek out a qualified Reiki practitioner or instructor for a session or training. It is essential to remember that Reiki should not be used as a sole replacement for medical treatment for serious health conditions but can be used alongside conventional medical care.
